The Focus Team have been out and about over the summer. Given the bad weather it is not surprising that there are plenty of problems with flooding. Saghir Akhtar has meet with residents on Redbourne Drive where better drains are needed at the junction with Beechdale Road, Ennismore Gardens which suffers from poor drainage and been told of the need for better drainage at the junction of Trentham Drive and Aspley Lane end. The Focus Team have asked the Council to tackle these problems.
Alison Rouse has reported the ‘flooding hotspots’ on Western Boulevard at the bus stops near Beechdale Baths and number 22. The drains here get blocked very quickly.
Alison said “The Focus Team have been reporting these problems for years – it floods just about every time we get heavy rain. Why can’t the Council just get the drains cleared regularly instead of waiting for floods and complaints before acting?”
