The Council are taking action about parking on Trentham Drive, at last. Focus Team member Michael Thomas said “I am pleased that something is happening but I I am far from sure the Council are getting this right.”
The Council are proposing single yellow lines on Trentham Drive, Trentham Gardens, Cheslyn Drive, Shepherds Wood Drive, Oakwood Drive, Revesby Gardens and Prestwood Drive (From Trentham Drive to Cherry Wood Drive). The lines would be operational; from 8.30 – 9.30 and 2.30 – 4.30, Monday – Friday. There will also be double yellow lines on junctions and 2 hours restrictions on the lay-by on Aspley Lane.
Michael said “This will make things better in the Trentham Drive area but will just move the parking problem on to other places. There are places along Trentham and some other roads where parking could
easily be allowed on one side without causing problems. This would then cause less problems elsewhere – in particular Eskdale Drive area, Aspely Lane, St. Margarets Avenue, Lambert Gardens, Chalfont Drive, the Grace Drive area and Robin’s Wood Road.”
The Lib Dem Focus Team have sent letters to people on affected streets. If you’d like to get in touch, contact details are on the back page of Focus.
