Local residents have complained to the Focus Team about the state of local parks.

The team have found that the small park on the Whitemoor estate is not being renewed, it is being grassed over. To get to ‘local’ parks the children from the Whitemoor, Albert and Cyril Avenue will have to cross some major roads.

Local Campaigner Michael Thomas said. “The Council are taking more and more of our local parks away where children can play off the street safely. Even in these times of little money for councils we should at least try to provide some areas close to all these families.”

Michael continued “This is another facility that is going to disappear from Leen Valley. We have had enough taken off us.”
