Nottingham has an unemployment rate of 14.8% – higher than any- where else says a report by the GMB union, based on Government figures.
Liberal Democrat campaigner, Tom Stephenson said “It’s really dis- appointing to see this in our City and it’s no surprise that the five councils with highest unemployment rates are controlled by the Labour Party.

“Over recent years money has been spent on things that are nice to have, but not as important as skills and training to help people find work.” The City Council has now launched a £1.5 million jobs fund to help get people back into work. Tom went on to say “We are pleased the Council is doing something about this, but it should have been done a long time ago. Nottingham is a great city and people here deserve the best support to find work and stay here.”
